How we can help you

What you need to know

We believe that some of the most valuable advice and support can come from people who are facing the same health condition or challenge in life. We aim to provide you with balanced information about the experience of everyday life with a range of health conditions and issues, what to expect both physically and mentally, overcoming practical difficulties, making decisions about treatment and talking to health professionals.

On this website, each section is divided up into pages to cover the important topics including things like ‘going to the doctor’, ‘effect on school or work’, ‘self-help’ and ‘money’. These aim to help you to find out what to expect and what help is available. If you find a person who particularly interests you, you can visit their individual profile page to get their full story.

You can also scrapbook videos, people's profiles and webpages that interest you, so that they are saved in one place for you to come back to later or share with friends and family. Signing up for Scrapbooks is free and quick.

Please use the form below to tell us what you think of the site. We’d love to hear about how we’ve helped you, how we could improve or if you have found something that’s broken on the site. We are a small team but will try to reply as quickly as possible.

Please note that we are unable to accept article submissions or offer medical advice. If you are affected by any of the issues covered on this website and need to talk to someone in confidence, please contact The Samaritans or your Doctor.
